Why Getting Out Can Make All The Difference.
I'm a worrier. I always have been. And it is the bane of my life.
Recently, what with exams coming up, my stress levels have been through the roof. Seriously. The other day I nearly cried because my hair dryer kept falling off the shelf. But one thing about me is that I'm always looking for ways to cheer myself up and alleviate some of the pressure that I quite usually feel pressing me down at this time of year.
Yesterday I woke up early and for once in my student life, I woke up feeling refreshed and not wanting to shrink into the pillow and sleep for another hundred years. What with this being such a revelation, I felt really productive and motivated and everything I had sitting on my To-Do List was completed before noon. If you're a list keeper like me, you will understand how incredible this feels, I mean, just, wow.
Anyway, what with the rest of my day left wide open and the sun shining through my window, I figured what better way to kill a couple of hours by getting off my bum for once and going for a wander. Now I've lived in my area for almost a year, but have never bothered venturing out-with the ways that take me to class, the town centre, and my friends flats. It was time for a change.
I had a quick look on Google maps and found a park near mine which seemed worth a look, and my God was I right.
Now maybe it was just the fact that the sun was shining in Scotland for the first time since last year, or that I'd already had such a good morning, but this walk put me in such a good mood!
It ended up being the sort of park which was mostly occupied by elderly people out walking their dogs, but everyone greeted you with a smile and friendly "Hello!" as you trotted on by. Plus the fresh air and peace and quiet was a good chance to forget about exams and deadlines, clear my head, and just have a bit of me time. Bliss.
I seriously wish I'd found out about this place sooner because it is now definitely going to become my escape if revision is driving me insane, or if I ever just feel like stretching my legs.
I mean c'mon, look at that view!
Lots of love, Freya x
