Small Town Girl in the Big Apple

I WENT TO NEW YORK!!!!!!!!

Okay so a couple of weeks ago I packed my bags and flew off the United States to go and visit one of my best friends in undoubtedly one of the most incredible cities in the world. NEW YORK FREAKING CITY!!

It was the best week of my life and, as seems to be custom with trips away, felt to be over in a heartbeat.

I was in NYC for a week last summer, but it's just one of those cities that I don't think you'll ever feel "done" with. You know how with holidays to Ibiza, or Rome, or Nice, which you feel you can just tick off the bucket list? Well NY is not one that can be completed.

It feels insane to me still that I've been to New York. Growing up in small towns in Scotland, New York was always seemed like a fantasy world which only existed on TV shows and in movies, and on famous model's instagrams.

It's the only city that I would say EVERYBODY has to experience. It's just so captivating and enchanting and alive. (I realise that I sound like a walking cliche right now but honestly, if you've been then you know what I'm talking about!)

You see the weirdest things in New York, like the man in Times Square who dances around in a nappy with a plastic baby mask on his head (so, so freaking creepy). It's such a diverse city and you see all sorts of weird and wonderful things!

There are so many things to see and do in New York and I feel blessed that over the past 2 years I've been able to experience a lot of what the city has to offer, even though I know that I've barely scratched the surface.
